COMMENTS: This sheet music includes my own arrangement for piano solo of one of the most popular melodies of entire classical music ever composed by anyone. In original version by Johannes Brahms, it is a lied for voice and piano. This version features the song in its original key, in E flat major. Knowing the sounds of this melody from a little music that I was listening as a baby thousands of times, it sounded for me "right" a bit more tender than in a version for voice and piano, so I have octaved some parts differently. After I've recorded my entire "Double Bass Goes Brahms" album with the pianist Maria Sofianska, I have asked Maria to play once for me this beautiful song in a version for piano solo. But after some time Maria told me she couldn't find in the internet any really good sounding version of it as an arrangement for piano solo. I have decided afterwards to do by myself such a version and to dedicate it to Maria Sofianska. One can hear on this video quite exactly how this version for piano solo sounds like (same octaves, except for the instrumentation):
