COMMENTS: this beautiful, late composition by Brahms can be performed now as piece for double bass & piano. My multi-talented student Daniel Matthewes has done a very good sounding transcription of a composition for piano solo by Johannes Brahms. Double bass uses sometiomes the top voice, but often also one of the middle voices from the score, as well as the lowest voice. By purchasing this very professionally done transcription you are supporting its arranger, who fights with a very tight budget (like many other music students, hardly hit by the pandemic and cancellations of nearly all paid engagements in various orchestral projects). Versions in GDAE and AEBF# perform some parts of the double bass part an octave lower than cGDA tuning, which I have been using in the following YouTube video:
