BEETHOVEN | Sonata A major Op.69

BEETHOVEN | sonata A major Op. 69 - BASS PART ONLY | AEBF# & dAEA
FILE FORMAT: PDF | 300 dpi
RELEASE: final
SCORES: only Double Bass | 39 pages
SCORDATURA: in D & in G | AEBF# & dAEA
SOURCE: composer's autograph & first print | unamended
RECOMMENDED PIANO SCORES: G.Henle Urtext 252 (not included) | Bärenreiter Urtext BA9012 (not included)

COMMENT: Recommended scordatura (transp. in G, dAEA with high D string) sounds much clearer in the high register, when the sonata is performed with a grand piano in a concert hall. Tuning the two lowest strings to a fifth, with low A makes the performance of the sixths in the difficult passage with arpeggios ostinato in the first movement (bars 115-124) playable, as the position that way doesn’t need to be stretched/extended. Tuning in dAEB wouldn’t work for this passage without the inversion of the chord tones into a narrow chord, because the distance between the sixths in the low register is too big even for the largest hands. Scordatura AEBF# ("solo" tuning) is a bit inferior in clearity, yet very well playable, although it is in terms of technical demands a very hard task. Supplementary back page includes fingering hints for the crucial passages. A copy of my own part with all pencil marks used by myself 1999-2015 has been aslo attached. All the customers who have previously purchased this item will receive in the near future a possibility to download an audio file with isolated piano part.
