MANUEL DE FALLA | Seven Spanish Folksongs (Siete canciones populares españolas) | DOUBLE BASS PARTS ONLY
FILE FORMAT: PDF | 300 dpi
RELEASE: final
SCORES: Double Bass solo sheet music | 19 pages
SCORDATURA: three different versions | without transposition (GDAE), in D (AEBF#) and in F (cGDA)
SOURCE: piano score of an early printed edition for voice and piano (Max Eschig, Paris 1922)
RECOMMENDED PIANO SCORES: compatible with the composer's published version of all seven songs (in some arrangements for violin or cello the piano scores sometimes differ from de Falla's Urtext)
COMMENTS: famous composition by Manuel de Falla is here fully adapted for solo double bass in three different scordaturas. I prefer transp. in F (cGDA) one, for it sounds brighter and enables the possibility to play some parts an octave higher. All three versions contain slightly different details, using specific scordatura's possibilities, or to improve the playability. The playability in all three scordaturas is working surprizingly good in this piece. An additional page at the end of the PDF file contains one more time "Asturiana" for cGDA tuning, transposed a half tone higher, which could be helpful in the case the piece gets performed with guitar. I did it so during this live performance 2019:
