COMMENTS:
The octaves in the piano score have been slightly adapted in comparison with the original solo piano version, to match better the lower version of the solo cello part (lower version is in identic octave like double bass version in the video example below). In the arranger’s opinion, the piece has lost none of its charm through these adjustments; it remains equally effective when the melody is performed an octave higher. This instrumentation also provides an excellent foundation for accompaniment by string orchestra. The orchestration has already been completed, although it has not yet been tested in performance. The orchestral material will be published at a later stage.
